With HopUp Payments (USA only)
It's completely free to post an item for sale on HopUp. When your item sells, the fee is 7.0% (transaction fee) + 3.0% (payment processing) of your listed price plus shipping (if you selected to charge the buyer for shipping). The minimum fee is $1.99. HopUp pays out to the seller when the sale is completed (read more about payouts).
When are fees deducted?
Selling fees are deducted before we pay out to you for a completed transaction. The amount shown in your seller account represents your earnings after deducted fees. In the event of a partial refund sent to a buyer, the transaction fees are based on the original sale amount, and not the new amount after the partial refund.
With "On your own" (Available in all countries where HopUp is available)
When you choose to list with the "On your own" option when creating a new post, you will be charged upfront for the post since it will not be processed through in-app payments with HopUp Payments.
- The fee is a flat-fee charged to you based on the item value.
- These posts do not include purchase protection or protection for sellers.
- Payment with the buyer is arranged outside of HopUp with a payment platform such as PayPal or another of the seller's choice.
- The fee amount to be charged to create the post will be presented on the New Post screen in the app at the end, before you submit the new post. This is shown in the app as the "Listing Fee."
- You will have the option to choose the card to charge the fee to.
- The listing fee will only be charged if HopUp approves the listing.
- Immediately upon submitting the post, an authorization against the card will be initiated. Depending on your bank, this may appear as an actual charge on your banking activity. This isn't an actual charge at this point in time.
- The authorization will be converted to an actual charge if the post is approved.
- If the post is denied, the authorization is cancelled, and within a few banking business days, the authorization will disappear from your banking activity, as if the authorization never happened.
🚨 Keep in mind that "On your own" or "Flat-rate" listings are at your own risk and does not come with buyer or seller protection from HopUp.
